Hello,
I'm just curious what people are using for 'hand-free' (tx audio and ptt) devices while mobile? I don't see much availabe on the internet and recently in my province the use of ham radios while driving has become illegal unless it's "hands-free".

FYI I run a Kenwood D700 in my truck.

Thanks,
Pete

At one time there was a product called "TalkSafe" which was an interface that wired to the mic and audio lines from your radio and used Bluetooth. It wasn't cheap at about $250 plus radio-specific wiring.

I'm not sure if the company that made it (an outfit in the UK) is still around anymore.

I hadn't really thought about it until I saw this thread. I believe the newer yaesu ft350 has an optional bluetooth accessory. I also did a quick search and ran across this company:

Bluetooth

They look kind of promising, I see some for kenwood and icom. Just don't know if that's ham or commercial.

Jeff.
