Planning on getting one of the low cost QRP – CW transceiver kits. Looking for suggestions on which one to buy. Not sure on the band or bands yet, however will probably be the 20 to 160 M area. Have you experience and/or knowledge of any? Which one do you use? Any pro or no on any of them? Suggestions?

The K1 is not LOW cost by any definition.

Check out the Small Wonder Labs Rockmite series. I have two of them:

Stay away from the http://www.qrpkits.com kits. I have had two of their high dollar kits and neither were worth the time and trouble. Support for them rely on the forums to help you. They look nice, but normally require a lot of tweaking and usually mods to make them usable. Just not worth it. Both were impulse buys over the "wow factor". I even gave them the second chance after the first abysmal kit. Two more piles of junk on the bench "I wish I hadn't bought".
