Yaesu: A Couple of (I Hope) Easy FT-991A Questions

Before I buy this thing, and so I get the right accessories...

Is the programming cable for this the same as for the FT-817? (I already have that.)

And I am also wondering if the optional DTMF mic (MH-36E8J) will do direct frequency entry? Do I even need a mic for that? Will the touch screen do the direct entry?

Did you RTFM as it can be downloaded. Touchscreen will do direct frequency entry. Didn't consider programming cable as not that many memory channels can be entered. It looks like accessories for the 817 and 991 are similar. So, RTFM and compare accessories that are listed on various store web sites.
