I bought a small frequency counter at the Boxboro Hamfest recently. The front says Tristar F-250 Frequency counter yet I cant really dig up much on the item in question. Whats its range and how do I interface it with an older radio?

A Google search suggests that this frequency counter is designed for Citizens Band frequencies.

Does your device have input and output SO-239 (aka "UHF") connectors? If so, there's probably some sort of RF tap inside the box that leads to a simple frequency counter designed for a fairly narrow band of frequencies around 27 MHz.

Just a guess.

Yes it just says Tristar instead of Galaxy, I wonder if Tristar had a UHF version, but damn 250Mhz not bad, so I could use it for CB or an old Gen coverage reciever, say, a Hallicrafters S-38B?
