I have the Kenwood D-710 mobile radio and would like to power it by battery for short periods...The power requirements are as follows:

Current Receive Drain (approx.) < 1.2A (VHF/UHF)
Current Transmit Drain (approx) HI (50W (VHF), 50W (UHF): < 13.0A (VHF), 13.0A (UHF)
MID 10W: < 5.5A (VHF), 6.5A (UHF)
LOW 5W: < 5.0A (VHF), 5.0A (UHF)

Would a battery with the specifications of: Capacity 108 Watt Hours/Total Draw 14 Watts be sufficient? (Bienno Model BLF-1209A)

Thanks

With a 1.1:1 VSWR, your radio should be around 10A @ 50w on transmit.

I run a TM-V71A at 50w and my power cable is currently fused at 10A.

you need to define into specific length of time what a 'short period' is before we can give you a real answer.
