Kenwood: Kenwood ts830s and vfo820

I have had a Kenwood TS830s for quite a while. I recently was given a Kenwood VFO820. I notice that the connectors for the 820 cable do not match the 830s.
I am wondering if I can mate the 820 with the 830s. I could make up an adapter cable but am not sure if they would be compatible. Don't have schematics.

It's not just a cable or connectors issue. The VFO-820, with a 5-5.5 MHz output, is not compatible with the TS-830 and its 5.5-6 MHz VFO requirement.

For the TS-830S you will need the VFO-230 of VFO-240,

Thanks Yagi. I received the same information a while ago from another source. It is nice to have confirmation on this.
I guess I'll either look for a TS-820 or put the vfo up for sale.
