Icom: 746 vs 746Pro shape and size

I am working on a rack mount project for my shack and in the process of buying a rack for my 746Pro I need to know if it has any external shape/size differences from the original 746.


The rack I am looking at was designed for the original 746 and the manufacturer is not 100% sure if there are any differences between the newer and older radios.

Is the vendor Novexcomm on eBay? I have a number of their rack mounts, including one for the 746PRO. I'm quite happy with it.

I concur, no size or shape difference between the two.

There must be some mistake on the second set, the metric measurements are the same but the English ones are different. By ruler the 11 5/16 seems accurate.

I noticed that, too. My guess is that the metric measurements are correct. Besides, you weren't planning to build a $125 million Mars orbiter, were you?
