Default Tucson police impersonator arrested

The most dangerous kind of whacker - the one that actually detains and cuffs people in an attempt to find and steal drugs:

The suspect was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of kidnapping and impersonating a law enforcement officer. Additional charges are pending.

"This is somebody who went through the trouble of putting red and blue lights in the car, including a police type radio, a scanner, having a lot of the gear that we carry," Sgt. Dugan said.

The suspect carried a handheld scanner on his belt, a radio earpiece, and an expandable baton. He was driving a white 4-door sedan with red and blue flashing lights installed near the visor of the front windshield, police said.

What an idiot. I remember many years ago a similar incident occurred in South Texas. Unfortunately for the wacker, the very first car he pulled over was being driven by an off-duty Corpus Christi Police officer...
