Default Presidential visit 8-22-17

The President and Vice President will be in Phoenix tomorrow night (and Yuma before that), and I'm wondering where I can hear anything more than normal police activity. When I lived in Columbus, Ohio, President Obama visited several times, and I was able to hear the motorcade escorts from CPD on their events channels, which was pretty cool. Does Phoenix PD have anything like that? I'm not too familiar with Phoenix's channels because I live in Tempe, so I can't pick them up, but I will be downtown tomorrow with my handheld scanner.

My guess is, most comms will be encrypted on the RWC and maybe the AZWINS.

However, try the G- and Ocean-deck interoperability TG's on the RWC.

You might want to try the DPS UHF channels as well for motorcade escort, on or off the freeway. Try the metro channels, metro tacs, CI, statewide and state tac, as well as 460.1625 and 460.1875 I think they are.

You could also try listening to AZWINS, with a wildcard setting to catch any and everything that might come up. (ADOT should be active if the motorcade enters the freeway at any point.)

The Phoenix FD RDC online CAD page has a "Check crowding" call on H-11 right now. (5:18pm).
H-deck is the encrypted interoperability deck on the RWC.

It looks like much of the public service activity is on encrypted RWC interop talkgroups. Based on Radio IDs here is what is active.

H6 Phoenix PD
H7 Phoenix PD
H8 Phoenix PD and Phoenix fixed wing aircraft.
H9 Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe PD
H10 Phoenix PD and a Phoenix helo.
H11 Fire
H13 Fire
H14 Fire

Scottsdale PD was also active on their C11 Talkgroup 3439 encrypted.

Thanks for passing on the Combat Air Support Frequencies. Both Combat Air Patrol and DPS are prepping for another movement around 7:00pm with flight leaving around 7:30pm.

ADOT Alert East on AZWINS is active. They are stating that DPS is shutting down ramps, and they are not requesting ADOT assistance at this time.

DPS is currently shutting down onramps and coordinating on DPS Metro Central.
