I heard a reference to FirstNet during the NDMS exercise a couple weeks ago.
Someone was asked to turn their FirstNet radio on, because someone else wanted to try something.

Somewhere I have the PPT that FirstNet gave to MFD a few years back. I remember hearing it got a mixed welcome here in the valley. Will be interesting to see how it develops.

I warned of FirstNet on RR a looong time ago & on other forums and was practically laughed out of the room. Was told "oh it will never pass, no one will pick it up". Have any of you checked out what it's all about? It's like a panopticon, or something out of a post-apocalyptic film. Reminds me very much of the corporation in the Robocop movies.

I talked to the admin assistant for a PD in central Indiana today, they switched their phones to firstnet and have been disappointed with the coverage. Part of it was due to the large crowd at the 500, AT+T and Verizon put up temp sites and small cells but officers' personal Verizon phones did not have the problems AT+T did.

Another article had this from an Illinois PSAP admin.

'AT&Tís poor service in 9-1-1 and public-
safety-dependent leased lines in our
footprint is an overarching concern.
And I will not be shy about calling out
Verizon if it under performs. '
