Failsoft would be head to the drug store ad get LOADS of aspirin.... Each repeater would then revert to an 800 MHz conventional site. And if they are busy sites.... I can just say.. OW!

Seems they are back online this morning. I heard regular traffic as I was on my way to work this morning. Not sure if it's 100% or not but here it sounded like everything was normal.

Question Faulkner County ID Numbers

The awin ID numbers & names for Faulkner County is wrong on the RR.com database.
19401 was Mayflower PD but not anymore Mayflower PD is using 19405.
19401 & 19404 user unknown to me at this time.
19402 is Faulkner SO
19403 is Faulkner SO TAC
19406 is County road dept. not Greenbrier PD.
Not hearing Greenbrier on any Faulkner ID numbers.
I work for the county, our awin radios was reprogram not to long ago.

Just a update on the Faulkner County talkgroups.
the 19405 talkgroup is Greenbrier dispatch and they dispatch out Mayflower and Greenbrier.
Vilonia sometimes uses it but they mainly stick to their DMR Channel and they are dispatched out by Greenbrier and Faulkner County SO.

Interesting... so is Greenbrier no longer using their analog talk group on the Conway system?

Also, I have heard Mayflower PD on their own AWIN talk group, I heard them just yesterday in fact on the Nimrod tower. Are they transitioning to this new talk group, along with Greenbrier?

Not entirely. The conway system will be for conway users. Only a select few will have access to the system such as ASP and Faulkner County.
There is no reason why mayflower and greenbrier have to be on it.
Greenbrier made the switch to AWIN so they could get grants. Mayflower has always had their own channel. They are now dispatched out by Greenbrier is why they use their channel. If you listen on that talkgroup the 800 unit numbers are Greenbrier and the 100 unit numbers are Mayflower. Vilonia rarely and I mean rarely gets on it. They have their own DMR frequency that they get dispatched on and that they run traffic calls on.

I monitor Faulkner county a lot and I'm always scanning for new TG
They also use the sites 38,46, 39 and I think 26 that they are affiliated to.

milf... you left the 'n' out of Greenbrier in the DB description. Sorry, I'm an English teacher (really).

By info do you mean frequencies for the sites and talkgroups? If that's what you're referring to, hit up the database on here (see the blue bar at the top) and click on Arkansas and then the trunking system Arkansas Wireless Information Network linked to at the bottom of that page.

Let us know if you need something different.

Alert info from AWIN this morning:

Quote:
AWIN and Motorola system technicians are busy preparing for the upgrade
tasks that will begin January 3 and continue through the end of the month.
There are a few important dates to be aware of:

Critical days for the AWIN users will be Tuesday, January 17 – Friday,
January 20. Upgrade activities should be fairly transparent to AWIN users
except for Thursday, January 19. For a portion of the day all
AWIN sites will be in site trunking. System technicians are working to keep
this impact to a minimum; as always, users should be prepared with backup
communications if the need arises.

... [ portion omitted ] ...

Finally, we will begin tracking the weather closely on January 2, 2017.
If there are weather systems in the area that could impact our users or our
first responders we will halt upgrade activities.

They are all part of the process of going to Phase 2...but it's still a ways out before Phase 2 P25 is in use (widely) in the state.

All of my digital scanners are P25 phase 1 & 2 (and DMR!) so I'm ready for the switch-er-oo.

Question Mayflower AWIN

Why would Mayflower PD & Greenbrier PD use the same AWIN ID?
Mayflower is on the south end of the county and Greenbrier is on north end of the county.
That's confusing.
Why would they not have there own AWIN ID?

Because it isn't their main communications method. See the Faulkner County details in the database...

Default Mayflower AWIN

AWIN is Mayflower Police main communications method.

Who knows, then. Maybe the other two don't use that TG much. Or maybe it is wrong in the database. Do you hear the other agencies, besides Mayflower, on that TG? I see that Vilonia has their own DMR frequencies (and analog) for PD so I would suspect they don't use it much.
