I think Mark said yes, but I don't listen to ATC normally because it's too active.. Got a pic btw, not great but enough to confirm an ID:

Great shot!...I looked for him but nothing. Interestingly enough, the New England group have yet to report anything. The tanker flight planned for straight to Mcguire so I would have expected they would have picked them up by now. Hhmmm

Yeah that is odd.. It was a Travis KC-10 from my quick look online, and he was well above the typical block so it was maybe just motoring along.

Yeah nice shot! Supposed to be two groups today..
BLUE 67 Travis KC-10 82-0191 with 3 US F-15's from UK meeting
BLUE 68 KC-135 60-0344 6AMW who came by here for home at 1835z

BLUE 91 KC-10 83-0080 supposedly left Lajes this morning 1000z with 5
VMFA-314 F/18 Hornets Trend 31 flight.
Haven't heard anything on them yet.. Maybe they diverted to Iceland or scrubbed.

Thanks Mark! A C-17 just went over but was too backlit to see. Just contrails in the photo (I leave the cam in auto mode in the interest of time since, you know, planes are fast) so I deleted it.

You don't by chance have a test label you use for those two frequencies you posted this AM do you? Are they worth keeping in the scanner? I hadn't had them until today.

Awight then...we move along. Next scheduled refuel is 2300Z tonight.
Once again congratulations on your major purchase. Hope the move goes smoothly and everything works out well.
Thanks again for the updates... helps make a 12hour shift somewhat bearable

Really appreciate it! Verrrrry exciting. For a lot of reasons other than scanning of course but its huge for that too. Happy to pass on a bit of info to YOU for once instead of the other way around. I think it's a good idea, when they're in the area, to link a commercial jet to a given military flight bearing/distance wise so that we can all track it using flightaware/planefinder etc. Provided they stay parallel of course, it should be handy.

That was brilliant! With zero comms that was one way to locate a flight. Good call.
Thanks for the info Mark. This was posted earlier on Scramble re: the TREND flight;
"Today departed only five Hornets to USA.

Those freqs were active when they departed the UK this morning. When I get home I'll check my recordings and see if they were active at all. Otherwise, file them under Coronet Flights Air-Air (F-15s)

2025z BLUE 92 Kc-135 57-2603 showing off Mass..No sign of BLUE 91.
I may catch them running down the coast later to MCAS Beaufort I think.

Nice... lol. It's good to get away from it all at times. Just today I would rather have been home monitoring instead of working these crazy shifts (which always seem to coincide with air traffic).

Grr. Accidentally unsubscribed from this thread by clicking a link too far down the email. I'm subscribing to this thing till the end of TIME! It should have a Confirm button/I should pay more attention.

Too funny, because by 'off', I meant 'working the Sunday afternoon shift'. Hopefully the recording picked something up.

Default BLUE67 / RETRO17

So I was able to get a bit of the refueling. They used 396.200mhz as 'AR-primary'. No activity on 259.600mhz
Audio : Audioboo / BLUE67/RETRO17 Flight. Mar10-2013

On a side note, just before this refueling at 16:13Z, I picked up another tanker using 268.300mhz. This had been originally been recorded as an A-A for the Gripens when they passed by earlier this year.

Comms on 238.200 2:25 Atlantic time.

MARSA mentioned, 226KIAS because they're a little early, they have them on TCAS.

Some of the audio from today's refuel of the SoD returning from Afghanistan. Used 'secure-comms' once connected. Sorry for the delay.
Audioboo / ETHYLY02 & GRIM 52 (E-4B) 17:06Z near YQI

Sounded good! Usually secure aka Green coms you hear just a static digital key of Mike
and nothing else. Many aircraft still don't use or have Green Coms.
Green coms popular with those E-8C types when talking to ground units or other surveillance aircraft.
GRIM 52 made good time.. Off Ireland 1400z and refueling your way 1700?
They must have been really pushing it speedwise.
