Hello all my 6 year old router finally died so i replaced it with a dual band ac router but now i am getting timeout errors a few times a day on my feed but it corrects itself right away.
I am using a Uniden bcd36 with the wifi i notice that the scanner only connects on the 2.4g part of the router but my laptop can coonect on either the 2.4g or the 5g. should i connect the laptop that my software is on be on the 2.4 g or the 5g or does it really matter?

Thanks
Eric

Get a WiFi Analyzer app for your phone and check to see if you are running on a crowded channel. That can cause disconnects. The scanner's wifi is not being used for the streaming so it doesn't matter where it connects. I'll take a shot in the dark and say you should probably switch the laptop over to 2.4GHz channelthough, because 5GHz tends to have more issues in a house environment unless the AP and laptop are very close together. It doesn't go through walls/floors as well as 2.4GHz does. Your old router probably didn't have 5Ghz.
