I just got done setting up 2 feeds.. I moved from windows boxes to two separate Pi's.

I'm running the Pi's with 1 channel only on a UV5R.

Previously this worked flawlessly while I waited for the Pi's to show up and help in setting them up.

Now both feed channels (both on separate pi's and their own dedicated radio) have a noise in the background.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm pretty new to this whole thing.

Here is one of the feeds with the most traffic.

Check your audio cable connections carefully. Make sure they are solidly inserted. The output from the uv5r is a stereo jack. Your sound card is likely a Mono jack. While a stereo cable will likely work, you might get better results with a stereo to mono adapter.

Try also taking the radio out of the charger to see if you are getting charger noise.

The audio output from the radio is quite hot so you want pretty minimal volume on the radio knob.

Not sure if any of these will make a difference but they are worth trying if you haven't.
