Default headphone jack splitter

Hi i am using 2 separate uniden bcd536 for my feeds my problem is this scanner does not have a line out plug so i have to use the headphone jack. However doing this i no long can listen to the scanner itself. Can i use a headphone jack splitter so i can have one end for the feed and one for an external speaker? By doing this would it degrade the feed?

It will work, but you will notice a difference in audio quality and/or volume. To be expected when splitting a signal into two separate ones.

My suggestion is to listen using the PC you are streaming with. You can listen through line in or mic, whatever input you are using on the PC. That way you won't have the delay you would have if you just listened to your own feed.
