Well, I don't know if hijacked is right word...

I feed the Webster County Sheriff and Fire out of Webster County, Iowa. I have a facebook page that I also also maintain along with the feed, https://www.facebook.com/FortDodgeWebsterCountyScanner .

Recently, another facebook page has started, https://www.facebook.com/FDPS50501 , using my feed as their source. The problem I have is this facebook page is soliciting donations: All Donations are used to pay for our Servers, Administration and general costs needed to maintain, upgrade and update FDPS. Last I checked, Radioreference/Broadcastify maintains the servers, admin, etc.

The link this page posts is Webster County Sheriff and Fire Live Audio Feed, which does not have any of the feed information. Is there any way to get more of the feed information, such as the feed notes on this page?

Any thoughts?

Looks to me that FDPS50101 is simply providing a link to your feed. You can't prevent them from doing that. All they did was share a link to your feed. The only difference is that on your page you provide a link to the feed which includes a description and provides the viewers with the opportunity to choose a player.

Webster County Sheriff and Fire

And FDPS50101 provides a link to your feed that specifically uses the "web player"

Webster County Sheriff and Fire Live Audio Feed

Basically, FDPS50101's link is the link people would go to if they went to the link on your FB page and then clicked the listen button.

There is nothing hijacked. There is nothing you can do to prevent somebody else from starting an FB page (or any other page) and providing a link to your feed on Broadcastify.

And if you complain to FB, they aren't going to do anything about it. That person is not doing anything illegal or against the rules. They simply have shared a link to your feed and post things related to public safety communications in your county.

Is the FDPS50101 guy/girl capitalizing on your feed and perhaps gaining FB viewers that you feel you deserve to have on your FB? Sure. Morally, he/she should have gotten your blessing before doing so. Maybe they don't know your FB page exists. Or maybe they know who you are [or not] and don't like your FB page or you and so they created their own. Who knows the real rhyme or reason.

Bottom line is that as long as you have a feed on Broadcastify, anybody can link to it... and anybody can start their own web page about your county public safety.

The problem with asking them to not accept donations is that they didn't say they are taking donations for the scanner, hosting it, or anything related to that. They could means their website and servers for maintaining it (which the cost is relatively low as they are using Google Sites).
