Looks like BS to me. No mention of any specs. Did they test the transmitter power output, harmonics, spurs and and receiver sensitivity and selectivity on the hacked frequency ranges?

Some of these CCRs can be made to display any frequency from 000.0000 to 999.9999 but the radio won't actually work outside the range it was designed for because of hardware limitations.

ant888 question why do you need a radio when you have a scanner?
do you belong to a department?

I don't have a portable scanner. That's why I'm looking for mods.

I emailed the guy who made it, and he mentioned something about using Chirp to edit the radio's control settings, not too sure what that means.

Google it. Chirp is generic-type programming software that works on a lot of radios, mostly Chinese.

I already Googled it. I've seen many people do this to their bf888s, but there are no tutorials available.

Not likely. Adding VHF freqs requires hardware changes to the radio, not just software tweaks. The radio is UHF only.

Like he said, VHF is pretty much out of the question. That's why I suggested that you read up on the very basics so you'll understand the differences and varieties. You don't need to be a Marconi or jonwienke. You just need to know the basics.

It would cost much, much more to modify it than the radio cost and, although I have one, it's not all that great a radio in the first place.
