Trouble with VFO 868
Just got my third DMR, the 868 (XMAS to myself!).
Seem to have all the problems with programming on the digital side under control. However...
I'm not having any luck getting the VFO to talk in digital, analog works fine. I can get the radio into VFO digital mode, can set a frequency (435.12500). I also have an MD2017 and can get it on the same freq., but when i key the radio, i get nothing out of the other, and vice-versa . I do see the antenna icon go from X to full bars on the receiving radio while transmitting as well as the green led on the top of the radio proving something is getting to the receiving radio. I have gone through the CPS menus countless times, but i am obviously missing something. I was on the California NET last night, and was offered some things to check like, different IDs for the radios, etc. Was also advised to make sure that the VFO had a DRM TG number of 99 and time slot 1 CC 1. Not sure how to enter that. The place where you enter the TG number is the channels tab and it requires a set frequency. One observation on that, if im trying to make contact with another DMR radio on VFO, How do i know that my contact has entered the same parameters on his radio? Seems (to me) that VFO use should be kind of "open" in that respect. IOW enter a frequency and GO!
After a year and a half of DMR use, still pretty green! Any help appreciated.
Thank You,
Robert
