Default TIDRadio TD-M8 Cable Driver

Hey all,
I went ahead and got a pair of The TID Radio TD-M8 UHF radios. Nice Radios with Loud 1-Watt Audio! The "Deal" I got came with the free programming cable, drop in chargers and batteries. From the advertising, It looks like a mini CDROM would come with the software and drivers for the radios. However, you instead, get a "Paper Disk" that says to go to ( to download.
I was kinda leery of having to register on there. I downloaded the programing software from the order site but the programming cable is another story. You would figure it would be a Baofeng compatible cable and just down load a prolific or universal USB driver and bing/bang your done. Nope!! I tried several drivers and it would not see the cable. Finally I just popped off the USB cover and I found "WCH CH340G" on the chip. Turns out they use cheaper Arduino chips for the cable. After a Google search I found:

The driver file is This installs easy, assigns a COM port and brings up the cable right away. It read and wrote with no problems. An easier workaround than dealing with the alternative.
Troubleshooting Golden Rule #1: Check your connections.
