Despite the broken English I will try to explain your negativity to you professionally.
EVERYTHING you just described more than likely has nothing to do with the radio unless you've been testing it in a controlled environment.

How far are you from your repeater?
Are you talking to someone locally on that repeater?

As soon as you add the internet into the mix - EVERYTHING can change. And I won't even get started on the people who use Hotspots as their reference for radio performance.

Until you or “they” use a service monitor and appropriate test equipment to quantify exactly how bad the radio is - I don’t care to hear opinions.

Same people would throw a $2 Chinese antenna on a Motorola and complain about poor quality.

Is the dm5r version 3 the same as the rd5r? It's the 2018 version I am looking at buying one on eBay for 58 dollars just to play with.

The TYT cables do not work with the RD-5R. However the RD-5R comes with the programming cable. And they are readily available.

Menu
Set
1 Radio Set
9 Double Wait
Press Menu
Select On
Press Exit 4 times

When you have Double Wait turned on, you will not be able to scan until you turn it off again. If you press Scan, you will get the message "Scan Fobid".
