Off Topic? I don't think so? I metal detect, have for over 35 years. My interest and limited knowledge of radio (tech class) has got me thinking. Antenna matching a very important thing. I own a couple Whites metal detectors and they both operate on different frequencies. The one has coils (Antenna) runs 6.59KHz the other run's with 14KHz coils. There is many optional coils for both detectors (Money to be made) My question is "Matching". After market coils state many things. Some of the coils are for detectors running from 3-22KHz, fits all? The older detector is stating 6.59KHZ. only. Just wondering is it more for money or is the frequency that important in that frequency range? I know hey it's best to match, BUT is it more money here? OR that important?
