I have had this radio in my last two work trucks for approx. 7 years now and listen to it every day I work. We have a hand full more in other trucks that my coworkers use. No problems at all. The soundtracker function is worthless in my opinion. I have never been able to see any reason to use it. It is one of the few CB's that scans if that is of interest to you. I rarely use that function, but it certainly works well.
Another neat feature that could be of interest is you can buy a second remote box for 20-25 bucks, and install it in another car. Then if you want to move the CB to another car, all you have to do is conveniently unhook the handheld unit from the remote box cable with a twist and move the CB to the other car. Almost like having two CBs for the price of one.
If I wasn't in a situation where install space was at a premium, or I was a heavy business user (I moderately transmit on it, but have it on daily), I would likely choose a higher quality dash mount type CB vs. an all in one handheld unit, but this radio works fine for me and my co-workers.
If you do buy one, I would recommend you use an external speaker. These radios can be had new for less than a hundred bucks. There is also a discontinued, much rarer sister model (76XTR) that comes in blue neon color that pretty much does the same thing. You can still find them out there if you look around. Good luck.
