Ch19 was kicking pretty good, the other day. "Southern California," in Mojave, was calling out. "Sidewinder" was having a good time with it, too.
Found out this morning that my transmitter is NOT cooked. Talked with MegaVolt(?) on CH19 for a while. (Ave K & 20th St W, out to about the state prison, c. 4.2 miles)

I’d figured mine was down on power for some reason, then I adjusted my power knob correctly again and got back out like I had been before. Seems my brother turned it down when he borrowed my truck and I just never noticed since I don’t has a meter in the mobile full time. Caught 76 out of VA yesterday evening. Mad Dog out of Bama was having audio difficulties it sounded like, 420 in Jersey owes me a new needle for my radio tho, he bent it back down here yesterday.

Well, I'm weird like that too in not liking skip. It does nothing for me, but it does something "to" me: it blocks out local on-the-road communications that I use the CB for.

Got some noise going again today. Hearing some activity on the Super Bowl Channel. Also heard what I believe was Wisconsin channel 38 lower sideband.

The 10-10 Summer Phone QSO party is going on this weekend and that's going to bring out some additional operators.

Been working skip constantly for the past few days. A lot of the Carolinas and VA. Michigan and Chicago also.

Working 28, 26, 16 on regular AM.

Finally got everything set up in my radio room, 5/8 GP on the tower and a 30 amp PS. This little station has no problem hanging in DX land so far

Hello All: Setting here in the Southern California Mojave Desert "yeah I have all my marbles, right...." with triple digit temperatures.

Last night hearing the north west corner, all kinds of stations, and locations up to about 9:30 PM. there were a few stations talking like from Washing to Montana and Oregon.

Yesterday had a local on top of Frasier Mountain in So Ca at 8000+ feet talking on 38 lower all over the mid west, Colorado burning a hole to California!

Jay in the great So Ca Mojave Desert About 102F yesterday, nice break from 112F
