Scout, to the best of my knowledge, I am only aware of two Uniden models. Lower end model is priced at the $60.00 something range, with the high tier model featuring NOAA WX preprogrammed frequencies running under $90.00.

Me, I would go with the low tier model.

Visit Universal Radio's web site for further info.

Unfortunately we no longer have Radio Shack, lost Lafayette waay back in the late 70's, now they had some good stuff.

This has been said before, but it's probably worth mentioning again; regardless of which handheld CB (27 MHz radios, not FRS or GMRS or Australian 460 MHz "CB"), performance will suffer greatly because of antenna length and lack of an adequate ground plane. Don't expect much range using the stock rubber duckie or telescoping metal antenna.
