The annual Michigan QSO Party (a contest) was held between noon and midnight (local time) on Saturday, April 17. The object of the contest was to contact as many different Michigan counties as possible during this 12-hour period. The total number of contacts is multiplied by the number of different counties to arrive at the final score (Michigan operators also get a multiplier for each of the 49 other states they contact).
I'm proud to say that the Blossomland Amateur Radio Association (Berrien County) had a record turnout of participants. During the contest, several other stations commented about the large number of hams on the air from Berrien County. One jokingly even asked if everyone in Berrien County was a licensed operator!
We will all give our points to BARA in hopes that we can win the state-wide competition.
