New location for the annual Palm Springs Hamfest this year! March 15, 2014.
Palm Springs Hamfest was originally organized by the Palm Springs DX Club and the
Desert Rats Ham Radio Club joined the Hamfest the second year. This ARRL-sanctioned
event will be the fifth ham fest.
This event has grown from about 80 people the first year to 750 in 2012. We anticipate
more than 1,000 to attend in 2014 - making it one of the largest hamfests in the
Southwestern region.
Our theme has been to try and maintain the nostalgic atmosphere of an era by-gone,
that Palm Springs, CA has been noted for.
And I have heard that the new Puxing UV973 - TRUE dual-receive / duplex /crossbanding
commercial HT will make its first hamfest appearance! (grin)
