Just confirmed: #WaldoCanyonFire swells to 15,375 acres. No word on containment.

Some estimate on homes lost numbers should be released soon.

It went from 6K+ acres to 15K+ this morning. I'd venture to say most of that growth happened from 1600-2200 yesterday evening. We went through the area about 1800 going south and headed back north about 2100. It was scary how quickly the fire progressed during that time.

I think you might be confusing that with Douglas Valley housing on the AFA, Its a long ways away from anything in the douglas county area, It would have to hit monument first and theirs no pre evacs there.

This is on the Douglas County website.
This is Douglas County Regional 9-1-1
with a pre-evacuation warning.
The Waldo Canyon fire burning in El Paso County is expanding and poses a threat to residents of southwestern Douglas County. The specific area included in this pre-evacuation warning is bounded by the Palmer Divide Road on the south, Noe Road on the north, Spruce Mountain on the east, and Rampart Range Rd.on the west.

Last I heard they were keeping it from crossing rampart range road, I hope their just being cautious and prepping for another event like yesterday since another storm front is on it way.

I think, that after what happened last night they have moved from thinking three steps ahead to thinking and planning seven steps ahead which adds to the probabilities and permutations exponentially.

Did it jump 24? Cripple Creek and Victor are a good distance away.. I guess they are reserving woodland park for staging?
