Officer Hit

DENVER - A police officer on a motorcycle was hit by a car and thrown from his bike Tuesday.

The incident happened at Speer and Lawrence just before 9 a.m.

The officer was being transported to Denver Health Medical Center.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the officer sitting up, appearing dazed, and talking to the responding paramedics.

Police have not released any information regarding the cause of the crash.

Did you hear how DPD is going to fight this? They are talking about having the Motor officers wear a vest that has a rip cord if you will that is attached to the bike. So if they fall the rip cord is pulled and this vest inflates, kind of like an air bag. Judging by the responses from the motor officers I've talked to. They don't want theses vests. But can you blame them? What happens if the cord gets pulled by accident? They end up looking like the michelin man? Not to mention they are like 70 grand a piece.

This is near the same area that those biker dudes were hit a few months back isn't it? I don't like driving in that area.

That's a pretty big mark up this airbag vest only costs $300.00
