DTRS timoe-outs and Englewood Fire

Englewood Fire has had some kind of interference on its TG for the past 30 mins or so. It doesn't sound like an open mike, it's kind of staticy. Isn't there some time-out on the DTRS where a radio will be cut off if its transmission exceeds, say 2 mins continuous? Or, can't dispatch lock out that radio until the issue is fixed? Dispatch was having a real hard time trying to copy units talking on the radio.

There was certainly a problem this am Craig but the traffic for the apt fire with burn victim seemed ok and it was all on DTRS.

the PTT Time Out feature is something that is enabled in individual radios, it's not a system-wide setting. So, if Englewood wanted to they could enable the feature in their radios, but it sounds like they havn't if they are having open mic problems.

The dispatcher should be able to disable any radio that is in the field. There is the possibility that the problem wasn't an open mike, but some other malfunction.

It didn't sound like an open mic as there was no discernable background talking or laughing as is typical. I think they may have fixed it just before the tone out for the apt fire, Jim.
