I live in Colorado Springs. While experimenting with my HomePatrol 1, i set my location somewhere far away (Simla,CO) to see what towers i could listen to. I am hearing Pueblo police traffic from the Chevron(denver) tower. Why would a Denver area tower be carrying Pueblo traffic? Does that mean a radio is registered on that tower listening to the pueblo talkgroup?

Thanks

Meezy

You aren't picking up the Chevron site, you are picking up a site down south that uses some of the same frequencies. Frequencies are reused across the state once there is enough distance between the sites. Scanners do not register with the sites, they only monitor. Find the frequencies for the Chevron and then do a page search to discover how many frequencies are used at other sites.

This is why you need to check the site # associated with the CC you're hearing. That will tell you for sure which site you're hearing.
