Musgrave delivers federal grant for law enforcement

Larimer County law enforcement officials accepted a $246,807 federal grant Wednesday that will be used to buy electronic communication equipment.
A large check representing the grant was presented to District Attorney Larry Abrahamson and Sheriff Jim Alderden by U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo., who said she lobbied to get the De-partment of Justice funds earmarked for the county.

The funds came from the Science, State, Justice, and Commerce Appropriations Act for 2006. For more on this story see Thursdays Coloradoan.

I just read over this mornings Coloradoan and it states that the grant money will be going to purchase new computers for the DA's office and improve the existing computer system used by LCSO.

The Coloradoan said:

Alderden said the $80,000 earmarked for the Sheriff's Office will be used to buy digital recording equipment and a server...
