Thought it might be time to start a new thread.

Colo Spgs. The new P25 system is up and working. Great sound quality so far. The old system is completely dead.

Specific details on new CC's and TG's will be forthcoming soon and posted in the database.

Also win96 program files will be available soon for those using Pro-96/2096 to make updating easier.

From the previous thread, 856.2375 is one of the new CC's.
As Mark said, that is a temporary site on top of Cheyenne Mtn. It will very likely not stay there (you wouldn't believe what it costs to rent space up there), and may move to a different location in the county.
There are NO new CC's...

We have a rough draft working version of about 250 new TG's that are being used, if you are logging any or have questions please PM or email me to try to make the accuracy of this list even better before it's posted to the database.

But more importantly updates, changes or revisions are welcome.

Thanks Jim<

Just program in any of the control channels and search away, should be extremely easy. Or if you use win96 just upload the local updated program and then you'll even have the TG's with alpha tags.

Thanks guys!

Thanks you guys for the new El Paso information, my roommate works for Colorado Springs Fire, and he told me that the switchover was complete. I flipped on the scanner and all new talk group id’s. I’ll do my best to foreword any new talk group information to the right person(s). I appreciate everyone’s time, effort, and dedication in gathering new information and I look foreward to gathering new info myself.

It seems as if most, if not all El Paso Utilities Talkgroups stuck around and obviously switched over to digital. I also have a question, am I seeing two different TG’s for EPSO Dispatch depending on which site I scan (Stanley Canyon / Ski Summit)? I was wondering if anyone has seen this with any other talkgroups throughout the county? Thanks

Yes, they had to go digital. P25 is only digital, while the previous P16 system is a hybrid. This system was built up from the original analog system that Utilities built.
As for EPSO dispatch, there is only one TG for the main dispatch channel...however... At night dispatch splits the county in half (north and south) and they dispatch off of two TG's (it used to be 1 and 3...not sure if that has stayed the same as before). Also, during critical incidents, dispatch will close a TG and switch other ops to another TG. I think thats what you're hearing.
The TG's DO NOT change based on the site.

Hey Bob,
Why would they go to two TG's at night? I would think that during the day when they are more busy they would want two different TG's rather than at night when it quiets down? Or does it get crazy in El Paso at night?
To me that seems kind of like Centennial Airport up here using two tower frequencies during the night when it's slow and only using one on Saturday morning when it's hopping.

It's actually MUCH busier at night...
There is much more "admin" type stuff during the day (prisoner transports, civil service, etc) but at night the 9-1-1 calls go through the roof.
Also, there is several hours of overlap of the swing and midnight shift units, which really increases the amount of radio traffic. Splitting things between two dispatchers makes it easier to manage.

This is funny. Look at the CCH Freqs. They either have a lot of separation between site 418 and 420, or that's a mistake with the neighbors.

It's not a mistake...they are very, very far apart. There are indeed 2 sites with the same CC.
