I just want to confirm frequency programming. Is is sufficient to program only the red colored primary control channels for the metro Denver area?

Depends which agencies you wish to monitor the metro area is pretty big for agencies on the state DTRS then yes control channel only will suffice but for Aurora, Denver, Lakewood, West Metro, Westminister, Arvada etc you'll need all the EDACS frequencies, in proper order.

Jim,
Thanks for the info. I have the other EDACS systems programmed in okay but have always been confused about what frequencies were necessary for the DTRS. Thanks.

Control channel only for the DTRS. Which radio are you using?

The Radio Shack Pro-2096

Good choice, would suggest using one of the many available local win96 files then for programming.
