Where in the county is Gunbarel?
I can't pick it up in Wheatridge.

South of Niwot and on the Eastside of the Diagonal as you head out of Boulder towards Longmont.

But I'm getting the CC in a pretty decent radius surrounding that area including Arvada, Greeley and Ft Collins.

Close

Actually visible Southwest of S.H. 52 and 95th. Nice little hill it sits on.

The site is likely the new antenna tree next to the existing stick for BRCC's Green Central repeater.

Now that this site is on hopefully Bestasso is on the air soon.

RadioShack needs to get with the program on 700 MHz.

Uniden's current offerings disappoint me.

I'm hearing may be next summer for Bestasso and guess RS does not care about Iowa and Colorado the only 2 places really using 700MHz control channels for public safety currently.

Maybe I'll head down and get some batteries from RS for my 396T.

Sux to be me eh?

No surprise with rebanding actually starting next year. All the 800 MHz DTRS site loggings will have to be done all over again.

FWIW 851.0125 - 853.9875 appears to be vacant of all the SMR users now except for a few nextel sites still up and running.

That's about right. The "lower 120" users have to be out before the current NPSPAC users can occupy that bandwidth. Some of the rebanding activities will be starting in the first quarter of 2007 here in Colorado.

Smoky Hill (107) has 700 MHz capacity on it and that's in the area of Centennial Airport. It's not a 700 MHz only site, though. It's an 800 MHz / 700 MHz mixed site with an 800 MHz control channel.

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Now I finally have a use for my 396 up here in Boulder! Too bad it is a pretty quiet site.

What agencies are affiliating with it? I got a new computer and need to find my USB-RS232 to start monitoring the data on the control channel.

So far all I've seen are numerous Weld County agencies and CSP.

How far away from the intersection do you estimate it is? I ask because I'm trying to keep a DB of coordinates for my 996T. Or, coordinates themselves would be even better! Please don't make a special trip, though. The FCC DB is mum on 700MHz sites. No help there...

I drive through the area on a daily basis. 1/2 mile North East of the intersection would be a cellular tower that's been there for years.

I don't believe the state would be leasing space on someone else's tower.

If you have Google Earth or the like, fly here:

40° 5'28.93"N 105° 7'19.79"W

Good sized tower, but .56 miles NE of the intersection.

Maybe this is it.
