ANTIOCH -- Police here finally will be able to talk directly to other public safety agencies instead of encountering communication barriers in potentially dangerous situations. The City Council unanimously agreed Tuesday to join a group of other government agencies in Contra Costa and Alameda counties that are all using the same radio communications system and pay $1.8 million to buy and install that equipment.
