There are a number of other companies that have an interop solution using an IP
connection at a much cheaper cost. It sort of depends on what your trying to do
and how your trying to do it.

I have seen the RIOS gateway system from Sytech Corp walk circles around any
of the other companies. They have a great GUI interface that is easy and simple
to use. Can inter-connect multiple gateways together in a meshed network.
Unlike the spoke and hub type network that the JPS made ACU-1000 gateway
uses.

The Sytech gateway has the ability to remotely change channels and zones
on certain selected radios. It will show on the client computer screen the
actual front control panel of the radio. The IP connection can also be supplied
from a satellite link. This would allow the use in a mobile command vehicle
that can go just about any place in the US and still make a connection back
to their IP network.

Check them out before purchasing any gateway. It would save you money and
get a better working solution that most dispatchers have fallen in love with.
