Lightbulb Tip: How to search for NAC, CC or RAN in the database

(This only works for Premium Subscribers)

With digital formats such as P25, MOTOTRBO and NXDN becoming more and more popular on conventional frequencies, it's helpful to be able to search the RR database for frequencies that have a particular P25 Network Access Code (NAC), MOTOTRBO Color Code (CC) or NXDN Radio Access Number (RAN).

Unfortunately, because the Tone Filter field in the RR database searches contains only PL and DPL codes, and doesn't allow direct text entry, it's not easy searching the database for any of these.

Here's a little trick to make it happen!

If you edit the search results URL directly, you can search for any of the above digital "tones".

Here's an example of how we can search the entire database for a NAC of 7D1 on 773.53125:[]=10001&freq=773.53125&tone=7D1+NAC&coid=1

Or a search for CC 12 on 462.350:[]=10001&freq=462.350&tone=12+CC&coid=1

Or a RAN of 1 on 158.760:[]=10001&freq=158.760&tone=1+RAN&coid=1

You can also narrow your search to a specific state, although that's a bit more complicated because you need to know the stid of the state you want to search in. For example, California is stid 6 in the database:[]=6&freq=773.53125&tone=7D1+NAC&coid=1

Kentucky is stid 21:[]=21&freq=158.760&tone=1+RAN&coid=1

And so on.

At this point, it's probably easier to just search the entire database, since there won't be an overwhelming amount of results.

By the way, yes, this will return results for Canada as well.[]=10001&freq=140.550&tone=D1C+NAC&coid=1

Hope this helps!
