I signed up to download the database files and it downloads as a CSV file. Simply opening in Notepad and saving as DAT does not work.

When I attempt to open in Chirp or my Retevis Software it loads nothing. Doesn't complain about the file, just doesn't load the data.

Brand new user and new to the system, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Make sure in your software that you've told it you're importing a CSV file. Many programs also require that you define the columns before the import.

You can also try opening it with Microsoft Excel (or Libre Office, which is free). It will come up as a spreadsheet which you can then massage around to fit the needed import format, then save as an Excel file or CSV file, whichever your software requires.
