Icom: New D-Star Problem With Icom IC-7100

I have been using D-Star on my IC-7100 for three years now. Suddenly the rpt2 register will no accept inputs.The register shows a greyed out "Not Available" message. This prevents me from using gateways on the nearest repeaters.

I normally store all the configurations in memory from an RT-Systems data base. I have my system backed up on the micro-sd card, but even bringing in former configurations that once worked perfectly show this same error.

Any ways to correct this?

My son who likes to click every possible menu item found out that this is an (apparently undocumented) menu option. To correct, press the MEM key until memory 2 is displayed. On the screen touch CS. Turn the large black knob if necessary to display two options. One is R2 NOT USED, and the second is R2 GATEWAY. Touch the latter and all previously entered gateways now reappear.
