Sometime earlier today the old Hoseline https://hose.brandmeister.network webpages went offline. The new webpage is devoid of information with only two dropdown menus displaying choices. The sub-pages, where one could listen to a talkgroup, e.g., https://hose.brandmeister.network/group/91/, just return "503 service unavailable" pages. The latest news https://brandmeister.network/?page=news webpage has no news on Hoseline. Too bad, as it was less than a week ago that Hoseline audio resurfaced. Stay tuned...

The usual Hoseline pages have returned, but the data and audio linkages are missing as I write this. Stay tuned for developments.

Hoseline had been down for 2-3 weeks (at least for me) until a couple days ago. Still not completely stable, but hopefully it will come around.

On November 8 I found https://hose.brandmeister.network is offline again. No signs of life and news so far as I can find. The website is returning a "503 Service Unavailable" that translates to "failed to connect to endpoint" (I assume that is the servers).

As a past webbie for WWCR (1996-2005) and other websites going back to 1992, I really dislike not telling the whole story. (Don't get me started about ancient pages with broken links et al.) With so many users, the webbie should post a one-liner to the news section on https://brandmeister.network saying something--it is broken/being upgraded--and is expected to be back in "x" days/weeks/months or the service is being discontinued. Something. To let a connection go off into space isn't good form. A one-liner couldn't take more than 5 minutes if one has turn on the computer. Heck. With two Andriod apps I can edit my website with my phone or tablet. Giddyup. Woof. Take your pick.

Hoseline pages are appearing again but the information is IMHO virtually useless. The listed activity is live, but no talkgroup numbers are shown. I don't understand what this all about.

Does anyone know if hoseline audio can be played on an iPhone or iPad. I open the stream, see the VU meter but no movement on the meter and no audio. Same stream plays on an Android device, Mac and Windows.

Maybe its using flash or something the iOS devices will not use?

I've been trying on and off for weeks trying to monitor a particular TG online, but have no audio... I I used to see the VU meter movement, and the ID would translate to the users callsign, but now I don't even have that. No callsign (just the DMR Radio ID), no meter indications, and still no audio. (Same results if I key up the TG and speak on it myself). This group is active on Saturdays http://hose.brandmeister.network/group/31674/ but I have yet to be able to monitor them via my PC. If I go to the Last Heard screen I can click on an active conversation there and get audio through the speakers right away. (Although, I'm not sure that's even working now....) Anyone else seeing this?

This seems to be an issue with Chrome. Try using Firefox to see if the site works, it did for me.

Now, for the issue with Chrome. It seems that Chrome is wanting a request from hose.brandmeister.network to enable Java and sound, the request is not sent or, Brandmeister assumes that Java and sound are already enabled. To enable Java and sound on the Brandmeister site go to https://hose.brandmeister.network.

Right click the lock at the left end of the URL bar and select 'Site settings'

On the settings page, locate JavaScript and change the setting to 'Allow'. Scroll down to Sound and change it's setting to 'Allow'.

Close all of your tabs and close Chrome (the settings are automagically saved). Reopen Chrome, go back to https://hose.brandmeister.network and select your talkgroup (https://hose.brandmeister.network/91). Happy monitoring.
