good find! I will enjoy when i go see my family in Ottawa

OFD has always been open about info...they gave me a copy of the EDACS manual when they first switched over, I find asking usually gets the info...I'm working a couple other public relations people for more info on different systems for the site.

Will hopefully have CTCSS/DPL info for you shortly.

Awesome, I really need to get a programming cable for it...hehe already reprogrammed a lot by hand. Gotta say I forgot how much "stuff" the OPP deal with. Great coverage get pretty much all eastern Ontario with a outside J-pole antenna up about 30ft. I'm living 2 houses away from a fire station and should have the PL/DPL info after the next radio checks....

Hey Don, again, good find on that stuff. That's eluded alot of folks for a while now. I'm gonna assume that since these are simplex frequencies, we really only need to put in the frequencies in the 850 range as the ones that are actually the simplex frequencies?

I only see 12 frequencies here? As stated above, we only need the 850 range ones though right?

I too had spoke with someone from OFD who's on the EasternOntarioScanning yahoo group also and was very nice to deal with. I believe he was someone in communications as well.

The 814's are they input frequency pairs ? I am assuming they are.
I will have to take a listen next time when fire truck passes my place. To see how strong these vehicle repeaters are. Thanks for the info. I will keep in tune. Do they repeat fire traffic off of the EDACS system, or they seperate use all together, such as a fire command post set up, at a large scale fire.

Good find after all this time! Goes to show that if the right person
asks the right person the right questions, results can happen. I opted
for the search and wait, hoped to find them earlier, must have skipped
by them more than a few times. With this kind of approach, other things
tend to be found over time. I don't think anyone else was looking
though.

I'd scan both input (814) and output (859) frequencies. If listening
from a distance, especially with high-rise incidents, you might hear the
portables (except if they're in the basement), but maybe not the repeater.
Its antenna is a short 1/4 wave on the cab near ground level, and I
suspect they don't run more than 5W. That said, I heard a stationary repeater
from a few km away, and a couple of cases of fluttering mobile operation
which is not likely normal usage. Repeaters are not turned on as a rule
(unless needed) so listening will be limited; best thing is still to have an
EDACS scanner.

As far a simplex...would that be on the VR outputs when they are not
activated, or possibly other channels in the same range? And do they have
access to the ICALL/ITACs (anyone?).

Dave
