Does anyone know the OPP/Amblulance/Fire Frequency for Renfrew County.

Also, does anyone have the Ambulance codes (i.e. Code 3, Code 4, Code 8 etc.)?

Thanks!

All the info you're looking for is in the database here. OPP/MTO/EMS are all on fleetnet so therefore to properly listen you'll need a trunking scanner. OPP however are digital on the system so you'd need a digital scanner, unless of course your in Renfrew where there's a Beat Repeater and you don't need to worry about a digital scanner. MTO/EMS are all analog on the system as well, but you can get away with listening to EMS on there VR's too.

OPP stuff can be found here. Look under Zone 2
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=577

EMS can be found here. Again, under Zone 2
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=575

MTO doesn't have any conventional frequencies in use around the region so you'll find them on the same system as above.

For all the other frequency information concerning Renfrew County, you can find that here
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=4320

What kind of radio do you have?

EMS codes are here http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&action=codes&code_id=662

Common OPP codes are here
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&tab=codes&aid=577

Idle Monitor,

Thanks a lot for the information. Right now I just have an old Realistic Pro 41 (10 Channel) that was given to me. I'm new to this and want to get a "real" scanner but don't know enough about them, which is why I'm asking questions.

I've been told that the Radio Shack Pro 96 is the way to go...is that correct? I assume that you are currently able to receive OPP/EMS/Fire within Renfrew County so any tips, information, advice you are willing to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Firefgtr,

Thanks for the codes.

Idle Monitor,

Also, yes I am in Renfrew County so can I get the OPP (Beat Repeater) on the crappy scanner I have right now?

You'll only get the Beat Repeater if your in Renfrew, otherwise you'll have to listen to the OPP VR Frequencies.

As a good suggestion if you don't want to get a digital scanner because of costs, may I suggest either a BC246T or BR330T Uniden scanner. The 330T will do NFM for trunking Fleetnet while the 246T does not. But yeah any digital scanner will work for you too.

To hear what your missing out, you can check out this link sometime.

Thanks all of the help! I assume VR means Vehicular Repeater...is that correct?

Once I get my new scanner (hopefully tomorrow) I may have more questions. I really appreciate your guidance.

Yes, VR means Vehicle Repeater.

What type of scanner are you getting?

I'm thinking digital is the way to go and from what I've read, everyone says that the Pro 96 is worth the money. Anyway, i'm going to look at it as well as the models you suggested, if they have them.
