Default What's awesome about the USA

There's lots of negativity on the internet and in the world in general.

So i thought this thread could be a little more up beat and allow you good folks to share your love of your country and it's culture.

As an outsider i would be interested to learn about your country.

Our first and second amendments. Freedom of speech and to bear arms to protect ourselves from criminals and the government.

Aside from that, hockey! And Amateur Radio! Pickup trucks or lorries as you call them, I believe. Also, Tennessee Whiskey and Moonshine!

All pretty good responses. The fact that we are united states where the states were designed under the constitution to hold the power over most things. It doesn't always work out that way but no nation is perfect.
This old jingle from GM could be the best cross section for America..."Baseball hotdogs apple pie and CHEVROLET."

With all the conservatives that love to talk politics. I thought that this thread would be full of awesome comments on how America is great. Perhaps political ideology is better then this great nation we live in and that is more important to argue about then to share thoughts on the greatness of this free country that we live in. A place were we are free to have our own freedom of expression, religion, speech and what ever you might choose to live your life as long as you dont a fringe on the rights of another.

Hmm it's been a little slow of traffic baptistjcat.

Maybe me being a non USA citizen has something to do with it?

I personally have appreciated the comments so far and thought it would be popular.

not to worry?

The weather has been ridiculously warm and sunny for the last week or so.

There's a brush fire not to far from me so it's been slightly smoky and smelly on certain days when the wind is in the wrong direction.

England are currently in the soccer/football world cup so you see the odd England flag (St Georges cross) on cars or hanging from peoples windows of their houses.

It's a good excuse for people to drink etc and go a bit silly.
