I have found a P25 repeater on 167.500 NAC 293 in NW Florida using full time encryption. Heavy radio traffic. This repeater is not on 167.5125 or 167.4875 but 167.500. Any ideas? The DOJ in this area has a very large system on 167.XXXX with 12.5 khz spacing using NAC's of 167 and 330, but I have no idea who this is.

This is going to be a tough one to ID without more info. The frequency itself has been an FBI and a DoD assignment- any Navy facilities nearby? The 293 NAC seems to be a very common NAC, showing up on a lot of federal P25 repeaters from various agencies.

Signal500,
Thanks for the project 25 frequency. I will check it out. I also scan Northwest Florida (Santa Rosa, Escambia, Okaloosa and sometimes Walton). Here are two that I have found 171.325 and 164.9625

Chris,

There is the Pensacola Naval Air Station nearby, but they use a VHF trunking and a 380 MHz trunking system there. Maybe it is something else that is used at the NAS.

BamaScan, thanks for the new frequencies, I had not found those.....

293 is the default NAC code. Unlike FBI or DEA and few other agencies which standardized their NAC code, it is usually very hard to nail down who the user is.

Listen to the traffic and hopefully you hear someone who forgot to flip the encryption switch on.

BamaScan,

Have you found out who uses 171.325? It sounds like maybe it is National Park Service Law Enforcement for Gulf Island National Seashore. I haven't heard anything on 164.9625 yet, have you been able to idenitify it?

It's been a while since I was in the area but 171.325 used to be used by USCG in Mobile.
167.500 was used FBI in Mobile and Pensacola area.
Have no idea about 164.9625.

Thanks KEV200 for the info on 171.325, it sounds like a security or police force.
