Hi All,

Haven't heard any activiy on 417.200 in the Greater Los Angeles area in California for a while now. Does anyone know if they switched frequencies? I know a few months ago when I would listen it seemed there were alot of radio problems with the dispatcher asking units to repeat transmission.

thanks

Check 9 MHz lower - 408.2000 MHz. If not there, search the 407-408 MHz bands and see if they have moved.

The FPS is slowly moving to repeater inputs at a +9 MHz offset, which is now the standard for the federal UHF band.

FPS over here in the DC area has gone to the 380 mhz trunk band at the Pentagon under Joint National Comms trunk system.

They're on 409.400 with a NAC of 920 in Phoenix.

Chris,

I should know this, but is there a date by which all federal users need to comply with this?

no go

Hi All,

Well I searched the fed UHF band as recommended and not a peep. I tried at the usually "check in " times and the busy 5 o' clock logoff hour and nothing new found. Maybe they are on a shared trunked system . I know the checkins were mainly from social security buildings throughout southern california and the like. I'll keep searching around.

Cheers - Mike

I had been following FPS on 410.8 (NAC 114) for the past few months but didn't realize they may use other frequencies as well.

I entered all of the frequencies from the RR FPS page and got a few hits today.

Looks like the main frequency (410.8) has gone mostly encrypted now. I was getting 407.0 (NAC 197) this morning. I did have some clear TX on 410.8 but it was just a couple of words. Now that I've got them all entered into the 996XT I'll hopefully get more info.

FWIW, they were quite active the day of the riot anniversary in downtown Seattle. They were chasing people everywhere that day. It was 99% in the clear too.

The FPS frequency up here in Sacramento is 410.8 (analog) with PL of 127.3 as well... Also analog.

I've noticed that Denver often has issues hearing units on the ground in LA and Sacramento, even though they're making the repeater. It sounds like their VOIP link goes wonky a lot.

Forgot to add that 408.2 NAC 114 has been active as well the last couple of days.

I'll have to plug those in and see what I can hear. I was dissapointed when their main freq went mostly encrypted, especially since it was one of the only P25 frequencies that was in the clear around here.
