can anyone tell me what I am hearing? 165.4650 pl 100.0 they are air ops talking to ground ops. Sounds like u/c operations. "Omaha 4507" on downlink for the remander of the ops.

That would be US Customs, aka 'ICE' these days. Omaha is the Customs designator for Aircraft, and CTCSS of 100 matches them, as well.

Hint: Try also 165.7375, and 350.025 (AM) for Customs Air Ops. If they haven't changed over in your area, possibly 282.425 AM instead, or also.

I think the frequency that you are listening to is probably 165.4625 - Net 7 (100.0 Hz PL). It's very close to 165.4650. US Customs AMO (Air & Marine) Ops was ICE only for a short while, the flavor of the day is now Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

I believe it's also the input freq to 165.2375, which is the Net 1 channel (repeater). At least here in Oklahoma.

I have Net 1's input as 166.4375. Actually, I couldn't find 165.4625 as an input to any of the CBP Net channels. That's a new one for me as an input.

Just to cover the DEA, since they're well known, they'll mostly be here, when not using someone else's system, or Nextel:

F1) 418.625 (R)
F2) 418.900 (R)
F3) 418.750 (S)
F4) 418.675 (S)
F5) 418.825 (R)
F6) 418.950 (R)

They have others, but these are the main ones. Mostly, they only use this system during actual surveillances, on the two simplex channels, but you never know. Some areas are 100% DES encrypted, some are casual about encryption.

I haven't listened to them in a while but I believe the DEA in the NYC area is also P25 - some in the clear / some encrypted. Repeater site is on top the Empire State Building so they have a great signal.
