I live in Hamilton County ,Fl where there is a prison near by. I would like to listen to them but there is not any freqs out there for the hamilton county prison. Is there any one out there that listen to them or knows there freqs. Or are the dept. of corrections on the state wide radio system?

It varies, really.

Some facilities are still using 45.42, some are 800 conventional P25 (most, this seems the be the trend), some are UHF or VHF with leftover equipment.

I have a lot of freinds that work there so i have see them with those long antennas that touch your arm pit LOL. So i am gessing that there are still on the 45.oo MHz plan.

45.42 used to be a statewide frequency used by the State Dept. of Corrections. Some areas still use it. Some have changed to the Statewide M/A-COM system. It was reported that the Florida State women's correctional facility in Pembroke Pines is now using a repeater on 867.625 in P-25 digital.
