Disable accept friend requests

Is there a way to disable friend requests?
I don't want to insult anyone by not accepting, but also don't really see the need to "collect Friends" (this is not myspace).

Folks, if you "reject" a friend request the person is never notified of the rejection. Therefore, a rejection of a friend request is just like an ignore.

There's no way to disable it. I can't even manually go in to a member profile and shut it off, only disable the email notification.

The only way to disable it is to shut it off board-wide I believe.
