No. Only moderators can delete threads/posts. For a brief time (approximately 2 hours) after you post, you can edit your post. That's it.

Hope this helps,

Like QDP said, if you want to remove something you posted in that time frame, just edit the post and remove all of your statement and put in the word 'Deleted'.
The post will remain, but your comment will show Deleted.

Please don't do that. All that accomplishes is to leave a post with the word "Deleted" in it.

If your post must be deleted, please use the Report Post function (little triangle with an exclamation mark in it sitting in the top right corner of your post) and ask that a Moderator delete it.

Perhaps because the Moderators have other jobs and aren't logged into the site 24/7? I'm sure somebody will get to it eventually.

When members submit a request like, Please delete thread, with no justification then we most often ignore it. You need to provide a reason and a good one at that. Google archives this site so if it's an attempt to hide, the damage is already done and you're now a part of Google's history. But, we do end up following through with most requests for the sake of organization within the board and not covering up a member's goof-up.

All moderators can review each thread report, and I especially review every one to make sure something was done. So if it appears ignored, it wasn't. We either took care of it behind the scenes or the request was not warranted.
