Good Evening Folks, name is Brian.
I have the Pro-197, did not come with a CD.

I bought the programing cable, installed the driver no problem, I would like to know if I can pay for a subscription to Radio Reference and still be able to download Data into my Radio?, or will I need to buy the Scanner programing software also?..

In addition to a premium RR subscription, you will need to buy the software from one of the big 3 softwares.

Each one has a free 30 day trial.

yea win 500 is prob the best ive used and it has a 30 day free trial

Yup, I've been using Don's software on various scanners for years, well worth the investment.

If you installed the ARC500 software from the cd, you will need to uninstall it and download the new version. Your other options are Win500 and PSRedit. They all come with a free trial period.
